November 03, 2026 (MLN): Urea offtakes in Pakistan surged 39% year-on-year (YoY) to 487,000 tons in October 2026, while DAP offtakes fell 24% YoY to 166,000 tons.

Cumulatively, urea offtakes in the first ten months of calendar year 2026 (10MCY26) rose 7% YoY to 4.89mn tons, while DAP offtakes fell 7% to 941,000 tons.

According to a report by Arif Habib Limited (AHL), the provisional figures show urea offtakes recovered after earlier months were hit by monsoon-related disruptions that delayed fertilizer application across major crops, along with transporter strikes and other logistical problems.

The brokerage said better farm economics also helped the recovery. Compared with September, however, urea offtakes were down 20%, from 611,000 tons.

Among urea producers, AGL and FFC outperformed the industry.

AGL’s offtakes rose 89% YoY to 36,000 tons, while FFC and FFBL’s rose 54% to 257,000 tons.

FATIMA’s urea offtakes increased 30% to 56,000 tons, while EFERT’s rose 13% to 138,000 tons, helped by higher inventory carried forward from the previous month.

On a cumulative basis, FFC led growth with sales up 14% YoY to 2.42mn tons, followed by FATIMA, up 9% to 821,000 tons. EFERT’s sales slipped 1% to 1.39mn tons.

In the DAP segment, offtakes continued their downward trend in October.

AHL said international DAP prices eased slightly during the month, averaging $890 per ton, down 1% month-on-month, but remained significantly higher than the same period last year.

As a result, farmers have been shifting to nitrogenous fertilizers, which was also seen in previous months. NP offtakes also fell, declining 14.5% YoY to 81,000 tons, on the same shift.

FFC posted the largest decline in DAP offtakes, down 14% YoY to 94,000 tons.

EFERT, on a low base, posted a 123% surge to 43,000 tons, while FATIMA’s offtakes doubled to 4,000 tons.

In 10MCY26, DAP offtakes declined 7% YoY, reflecting subdued demand on an already low base and the continued decline in DAP usage.

In terms of market share, FFC led urea offtakes in October with 52.7%, followed by EFERT at 28.3% and FATIMA at 11.5%.

In DAP, FFC led with 56.6%, followed by EFERT at 26.1%. In 10MCY26, FFC and FFBL raised their urea market share to 49.4% from 46.6% a year earlier. FATIMA’s share edged up to 16.8% from 16.6%, while EFERT’s fell to 28.3% from 30.8%.
