U. S. A. leads as top export destination for Pakistan in May

June 17, 2026 (MLN): The U. S. A. remained the top export destination for Pakistan during May, with $461.25 million worth of shipments, down by 10.6% against the exports of $516.16m in same period last year.
According to the data released by the State Bank of Pakistan, this was followed by China, as Pakistan exported goods worth $216.25m to the country as compared to the exports of $199.53m recorded during the same month of the previous year, depicting a rise of 8.4%.
U. K. was the third on the list as Pakistan generated export revenue worth $157.81m from the country. This figure was down by 8.3% from the exports of $172.17m in the same period last year.
U. A. E. Dubai was the fourth in line as exports to the region during the aforementioned period were $127.62m, depicting a decrease of 28% YoY.
Among other countries, Pakistan's exports to the Germany stood at $106.5m, marking a drop of 19.5% YoY, while exports to Spain decreased by 13.7% YoY to $105.68m.
Moreover, the export receipts received from Netherlands (Holland) stood at $103.47m, down by 8.5% YoY.
While on a sequential basis, the total exports to U. S. A. dropped by 5.8% MoM. While exports to China dropped by 21.6% MoM.
Moreover, receipts received from exports to U. K. depicted a decline of 12.2% MoM.
Meanwhile, cumulatively, in 11MFY26, U. S. A. was the top source of export receipts, worth $5.59bn as against the total exports worth $5.55bn in 11MFY26.
Whereas, total exports to China in 11MFY26 stood at $2.44bn, registering an increase of 7.3%.
Cumulatively, U. K. ranked as the third-largest contributor to the country's export earnings, accounting for exports valued at $1.96bn in 11MFY26, compared to $1.99bn in the same period last year
