Soneri Bank explores acquisition for business diversification

February 06, 2026 (MLN): Soneri Bank Limited (PSX:SNBL) has taken a step toward expanding its business footprint after its board approved the management to evaluate a potential acquisition aimed at diversifying the bank’s line of business.

Under the decision, the board of directors has authorized the President and Chief Executive Officer to explore available options for acquiring a target company, according to the company's statement issued today.

The proposed move is currently at an evaluation stage and is intended to support the bank’s longer-term growth and diversification strategy.

Any potential transaction will remain subject to satisfactory due diligence, commercial negotiations, execution of definitive agreements, and the receipt of all necessary corporate and regulatory approvals, along with other customary conditions.

The bank said it will share further updates with the market as required if there are material developments during the evaluation process.
