SECP approves measures to boost Pakistan’s Business Ready ranking

September 07, 2026 (MLN): The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has approved key measures to further improve Pakistan’s Business Ready ranking.
Pakistan ranks 17th among 101 economies in the Business
Entry category, with a score of 86.64, according to SECP.
Information related to company registration and
post-registration changes is automatically available to the Federal Board of
Revenue (FBR) through an automated system.
SECP, FBR, and the Board of Investment will cooperate for
the exchange of additional information.
A link to information regarding environmental requirements
and permits will be provided on the SECP website.
Information on government support programs for SMEs and
women entrepreneurs has also been made available on the SECP website.
SECP has released gender-disaggregated statistics on newly
registered companies, covering male and female shareholders, directors, chief
executives, and beneficial owners.
SECP will also develop and publish gender-disaggregated
datasets on company directors and beneficial owners.
These measures will further improve transparency, access to
information, and digital coordination among institutions and are expected to
improve Pakistan’s Business Ready performance and ranking.
