SBP to roll out Rs75 commemorative coin

May 22, 2026 (MLN): Pakistan is set to release a commemorative coin of Rs.75 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China, with the coin going on  to the general public from May 25, 2026, through exchange counters at field offices of SBP Banking Services Corporation.

The coin marks 75 years since Pakistan and China formally established diplomatic relations on May 21, 1951, making it one of the most enduring bilateral partnerships in the region, according to a press release issued.

The round, milled coin features serrated edges and is struck in a copper-nickel alloy comprising 75% copper and 25% nickel. It measures 36 mm in diameter and weighs 19 grams.

Obverse Design

The obverse features Pakistan's iconic waxing crescent moon and five-pointed star positioned in a north-westward rising orientation at the center.

The inscription "ISLAMI JAMHURIA PAKISTAN" in Urdu script runs along the upper periphery. The face value "75" appears in bold numerals to the right of the crescent, with "RUPIA" in Urdu script on the left. Two upward-curving wheat sprigs frame the year of issuance, 2026, below the crescent.

Reverse Design

The reverse side prominently displays the national flags of both the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the People's Republic of China at the center, flanked by the years "1951" and "2026" on either side of an artistically rendered numeral "75."

The phrases "PAK CHEEN SAFARATI TAULUQAT KAY 75 SAAL" in both Urdu and Chinese script appear above the flags, while "EITAMAD-DOSTI-MU'AWANAT” meaning Trust, Friendship, and Support is inscribed below in Urdu and Chinese script.

The English wordings "75TH ANNIVERSARY OF PAKISTAN AND CHINA DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS" and "TRUST FRIENDSHIP SUPPORT" run along the upper and lower periphery respectively.
