SBP reserves rise $611m to $16.53bn

July 02, 2026 (MLN): The foreign exchange reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) increased by $610.8 million or 3.84% WoW to $16.53 billion during the week ended on June 24, 2026, data released by the State Bank of Pakistan showed on Thursday.

The increase in SBP's reserves is mainly due to Government of Pakistan (GoP) inflows from multilateral institutions.

Similarly, the country's total reserves increased by $559.9m or 2.61% WoW to $22.04bn.

The reserves held by commercial banks fell by $50.9m or 0.91% WoW to $5.52bn.

In the current calendar year, SBP-held reserves have increased by $471m or 2.83%.
