SBP reserves rise $17m to $17bn

August 27, 2026 (MLN): The foreign exchange reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) increased by $16.6 million or 0.10% WoW to $17.1 billion during the week ended on August 21, 2026, data released by State Bank of Pakistan showed on Thursday.

Similarly, the country's total reserves increased by $81.3m or 0.36% WoW to $22.59bn.

The reserves held by commercial banks rose by $64.7m or 1.19% WoW to $5.49bn.

Meanwhile, the current calendar year has seen an increase of $1.04bn or 6.39%.
