Punjab offers tractor subsidies to boost farm mechanisation

June 04, 2026 (MLN): The Punjab government has emphasized that modern agricultural machinery is indispensable for farmers, reaffirming its commitment to steer the sector toward modernization.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said the provincial government is facilitating small farmers by providing access to advanced agricultural equipment on a rental basis, according to Radio Pakistan.

Under the Chief Minister's Green Tractor Scheme, a subsidy of Rs1 million has been extended on 9,500 high-power tractors, while 10,000 tractors ranging from 50 to 65 horsepower are being supplied with a subsidy of Rs500,000 each.

The chief minister further said 20,000 green tractors will be distributed among farmers during the next fiscal year.
