Pakistan-UK ties, maritime security top Ishaq Dar’s London visit

August 24, 2026 (MLN): Pakistan-UK relations, regional maritime security and broader international issues will feature in high-level diplomatic engagements during Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar’s five-day official visit to the United Kingdom.

Ishaq Dar arrived in London on Sunday for the visit, scheduled from August 24 to 28, with discussions planned with British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband and FCDO Minister of State for Pakistan Stephen Doughty.

He will also engage with other senior members of the UK Government to discuss matters of mutual interest and bilateral cooperation.

Regional maritime security will be among the key issues during Ishaq Dar’s interaction with International Maritime Organization Secretary-General Arsenio Dominguez.

The Deputy Prime Minister will also meet Commonwealth Secretary-General Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey as part of his diplomatic engagements in London, according to media reports.

Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the UK Tipu Usman received Dar at London Heathrow Airport upon his arrival.
