Pakistan registers record 43,559 companies in FY26

July 03, 2026 (MLN): Pakistan recorded historic corporate growth during FY2025-26, with 43,559 new companies registered during the fiscal year, showing a 24% increase compared to the previous year, according to the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP).

The total number of registered companies in the country reached 301,615 by the end of the fiscal year.

In June alone, 4,323 new companies were registered, marking the highest number of company registrations ever recorded in a single month. Meanwhile, registrations of public sector companies increased by 25%.

Province-wise, 22,364 companies were registered in Punjab, followed by 6,691 in Sindh and 3,820 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Gilgit-Baltistan recorded the highest regional growth, with 1,585 new companies registered, representing a 65% increase over the previous year. Balochistan also posted strong growth, with 759 new companies registered, up 36% year-on-year.

According to the SECP, Gilgit-Baltistan and Balochistan recorded the highest growth in new company registrations during the fiscal year.

The trading sector accounted for the largest share of new registrations, representing 41% of all companies incorporated during FY2025-26.

Foreign investors registered 1,014 companies in Pakistan during FY2025-26, with the paid-up capital of these companies amounting to Rs2.5bn, according to the SECP.

Most of the companies established by foreign investors were in the trading, mining, and information technology sectors.

Chinese investors registered the highest number of companies, while investors from the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, and Spain also incorporated companies in Pakistan, the SECP said.
