March 13, 2026 (MLN): Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and promoting peace and stability in the region.

During high-level talks held in Jeddah, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a restricted meeting with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Syed Asim Munir, according to a press release issued.

At the outset, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif conveyed his respectful regards and best wishes to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and expressed deep appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s longstanding support to Pakistan.

The prime minister reiterated Pakistan’s full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during what he described as challenging times, emphasizing the strong fraternal relations between the two countries.

During the meeting, both leaders held an in-depth exchange of views on recent regional developments and agreed to work closely together to promote peace and stability in the region.

Prime Minister Shehbaz also assured that Pakistan would continue to stand firmly with Saudi Arabia and work jointly to achieve their shared objective of regional peace and stability.

The meeting comes at a time when the Middle East is facing rising tensions, particularly amid escalating conflict involving Israel, the United States and Iran.
