November 26, 2025 (MLN):  Local mobile assembly and manufacturers have produced 25.11 million mobile phones for the 10 month period of the ongoing calendar year (Jan-Oct 2025), while commercial imports totaled 1.7m.

A breakup of the data on local production provides details that out of the total 25.11 devices produced, 13.2m were smartphones while the remaining 11.9m were 2G devices, as per the latest data released by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).

Brandwise, Infinix took the lead in production by manufacturing 3.12m units in 10M2025 followed by VGO Tel which made 2.82m unit

According to Sania Irfan at Topline Securities, one possible reason for the slowdown in mobile phone production is elevated inventory levels across the market.

Distributors and retailers are reportedly sitting on excess stock, prompting manufacturers to cut production to avoid further inventory buildup.
