Pakistan imports from China clocks in at $1.8bn

May 18, 2026 (MLN): Among Pakistan’s top trading partners, China remained the top source of imports for Pakistan during April, followed by U. A. E. Dubai, U. S. A., and Saudi Arabia.

According to the data released by the State Bank of Pakistan, the total imports from China during the period under review went up by 10.5% to $1.78 billion, as compared to $1.61 billion recorded in the corresponding period of last year.

This was followed by U. A. E. Dubai, as Pakistan imported goods worth $862.73m from the country as compared to the imports of $580.86m recorded during the same month of the previous year, depicting a rise of 48.5%.

U. S. A. was the third on the list as Pakistan imported products worth $400.97m from the country. This figure was up by 117.6% from the imports of $184.26m in the same period last year.

Saudi Arabia was the fourth in line as imports came from the region during the aforementioned period were $343.05m, depicting a decrease of 1.5% YoY.

Among other countries, Pakistan's imports from the Indonesia stood at $276.88m, marking a rise of 23.3% YoY, while imports from Oman increased by 231.5% YoY to $236.21m.

Moreover, the imports from Kuwait stood at $202m, up by 569.2% YoY.

On a monthly basis, the total imports from China increased by 15.6% MoM. Similarly, imports from U. A. E. Dubai increased by 97% MoM.

Moreover, imports from U. S. A. depicted an increase of 81.9% MoM.

Meanwhile, cumulatively, in 10MFY26, China remained the top source of imports, recording $15.82bn as against the total imports worth $13.19bn in 10MFY25.

Whereas, total imports from U. A. E. Dubai in 10MFY26 stood at $5.59bn, registering an increase of 6.4%.

Cumulatively, Saudi Arabia ranked as the third-largest contributor to Pakistan's imports, accounting for imports valued at $3.32bn in 10MFY26, compared to the imports worth $3.18bn in the same period last year
