Pakistan, Poland agree to step up cooperation on security, intelligence sharing

October 07, 2026 (MLN): Pakistan and Poland have agreed to strengthen cooperation in security, intelligence sharing, counter-terrorism, illegal migration and coordination between their law enforcement agencies.

The understanding was reached when Polish Minister and Head of the Council of Ministers Tomasz Siemoniak met Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi in Islamabad, said a press release issued.

Both sides agreed to finalise several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) at the earliest, including one on Mutual Legal Assistance.

They also agreed that an Interior Ministry delegation led by Minister of State Talal Chaudhry would visit Poland soon to further strengthen bilateral ties.

Mohsin Naqvi said Pakistan follows a zero-tolerance policy towards drugs, illegal migration and organised crime.

He said government measures have cut illegal migration from Pakistan to Europe by 64%.

To curb illegal migration, the two sides agreed to widen employment and legal migration opportunities for Pakistanis in Europe.

Tomasz Siemoniak said Pakistan and Poland share a common position on counter-terrorism and security issues.

He said Poland fully backs Pakistan's sincere efforts for peace and stability in the region.
