Pakistan, Morocco sign defence cooperation MoU

January 14, 2026 (MLN): Pakistan and Morocco have taken a significant step toward enhancing bilateral defence and security cooperation with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Defence Cooperation.

Federal Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif during an official visit to the Kingdom of Morocco held meetings and led delegation-level talks with Moroccan counterparts.

This focused on expanding collaboration in areas of mutual interest, said a press release issued.

He also met separately with Mr. Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, to discuss broader bilateral relations.

Earlier, the Pakistani defence minister paid tribute at the Mausoleum of King Mohammed V, where he offered Fateha and signed the Mausoleum Guests Book.

The visit highlights the longstanding friendly relations between Pakistan and Morocco and reflects the shared commitment of both countries to further deepen cooperation in defence, security, and other fields of common interest.
