Pakistan, Morocco to boost trade, investment ties

January 28, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan and Morocco to further strengthen cooperation in all areas of mutual interest, with a particular focus on enhancing trade and investment ties.

This was stated by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif during a courtesy call by Ambassador of Morocco Mohamed Karmoune at the Prime Minister’s House, where matters of bilateral interest were discussed.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed Pakistan’s deep appreciation to the King of Morocco, His Majesty King Muhammad VI, and the government of Morocco, according to the press release issued.

He thanked them for their support in rescuing stranded Pakistanis who survived the recent boat capsizing off the coast of Dakhla.

He thanked the local Moroccan authorities for extending their full cooperation to the Pakistani officials involved in the repatriation of the survivors as well as the remains of those deceased.

Recalling the excellent historic and brotherly ties between Pakistan and Morocco, the Prime Minister highlighted the great affection and goodwill shared by the peoples of the two countries and emphasized the need to foster greater people-to-people contacts.

The Ambassador assured the Prime Minister that he would continue to work closely with the Pakistani side to explore new avenues of mutually beneficial collaboration.

The two sides are working closely to convene meetings of the institutional consultative mechanisms, including Bilateral Political Consultations at an early date.
