August 6, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan is deepening its collaboration with Li & Fung, a leading global supply chain management firm, as part of a broader push to strengthen its integration into international supply chains and boost apparel and textile exports.

Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Commerce Rana Ihsaan Afzal Khan and Director General (Textile) Mudassar Raza Siddiqi held talks in Islamabad with Umar Bin Asad, Country Head and Vice President of Li & Fung Pakistan, to explore strategic opportunities for partnership.

The meeting focused on aligning Pakistani exporters with Li & Fung’s international sourcing network, adopting global best practices, and diversifying into higher-value product segments.

Officials discussed ways to position Pakistan as a competitive hub for apparel and textile sourcing, with an emphasis on expanding access to global brands and retailers.

“This collaboration is pivotal to driving innovation, attracting investments, and improving Pakistan’s socio-economic indicators,” Khan said, adding that the government remains committed to enabling an environment where industry can scale internationally.

The two sides reaffirmed a joint commitment to expand cooperation, supporting Pakistan’s export ambitions in line with national efforts to enhance competitiveness and promote sustainable growth in the textile sector.
