July 03, 2026 (MLN): Pakistan and Kazakhstan are strengthening their strategic partnership by expanding cooperation in education, youth development and human capital, Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training Wajiha Qamar said on Friday.

She made the remarks while addressing a ceremony hosted by the Pakistan Education Endowment Fund (PAK-EEF) to acknowledge the $1 million humanitarian assistance provided by the Government of Kazakhstan for the people of Pakistan, according to APP.

The event was attended by Kazakhstan's Ambassador to Pakistan Yerzhan Kistafin, PAK-EEF Chief Executive Officer Hajra Suhail, officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and senior representatives of the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training and PAK-EEF.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister thanked the government and people of Kazakhstan for their generous support, describing the assistance as a testament to the longstanding friendship, mutual trust and growing strategic partnership between the two countries.

She said the humanitarian contribution aligned with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's Education Emergency initiative, aimed at ensuring access to quality education and market-oriented skills for children across Pakistan.

Highlighting the recent elevation of bilateral relations to a Strategic Partnership, Wajiha Qamar said the development had created fresh opportunities for collaboration in scholarships, technical and vocational education, and broader human capital development.

She added that cooperation with friendly countries such as Kazakhstan complemented Pakistan's efforts to strengthen its education sector and empower its youth.

PAK-EEF Chief Executive Officer Hajra Suhail said Kazakhstan's financial assistance reflected the close ties and mutual confidence shared by the two countries.

She reaffirmed the fund's commitment to implementing educational programmes with transparency, merit and accountability, adding that the partnership would help create greater opportunities for deserving students.

Kazakhstan's Ambassador to Pakistan, Yerzhan Kistafin, reiterated his country's commitment to enhancing cooperation with Pakistan in education, scholarships and people-to-people exchanges. He said investment in education was key to building a peaceful, prosperous and shared future for both nations.

The ceremony concluded with both sides reaffirming their resolve to further expand collaboration in education, scholarships and human capital development, underscoring their commitment to strengthening the strategic partnership and longstanding bilateral friendship.
