Pakistan, Iran sign $4m Agri-food deals

November 30, 2025 (MLN): Pakistani and Iranian companies signed three agreements worth over $4 million at Food AG 2025 in Karachi, marking the largest commercial outcome between the two countries at the trade fair.

The agreements span the sesame seed, rice, and meat sectors. Multiple Pakistani companies have been invited to Iran to finalize commercial contracts following negotiations at the exhibition.

A 12-member Iranian business delegation attended the event, the largest Iranian contingent at Food AG to date, according to the press release.

The delegation represented sectors including meat, rice, sesame seed, fertilizer, agricultural technology, and fruits and vegetables.

The group comprised owners and CEOs of major food importing companies. They held extensive business-to-business meetings with Pakistani firms during the three-day exhibition.

Substantial progress was achieved in negotiations related to the sesame seed and rice sectors. Significant deals in the meat sector were negotiated and are nearing conclusion.

The delegation expressed gratitude to the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan for organizing Food AG 2025.

The visit opened opportunities for long-term sourcing from Pakistan to Iran across multiple agricultural food categories.

Food AG 2025 was held in Karachi and served as a platform for generating business opportunities between Pakistan and Iran in the food and agriculture sectors.
