Pakistan, China sign 24 MoUs to boost digital cooperation

December 22, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan and China have taken a major step toward strengthening bilateral ties in the technology sector by formalizing twenty-four new memoranda of understanding.

The agreements focued on expanding digital collaboration under the Joint Working Group on Information Technology Cooperation, according to Radio Pakistan. 

The agreements were signed in Beijing and cover multiple levels of engagement.

These include one government-to-government accord, seven government-to-business arrangements, and sixteen business-to-business partnerships.

Together, they aim to accelerate cooperation across the broader digital and information technology landscape.

A key element of the collaboration is the creation of a practical and innovation-driven digital corridor designed to connect technology ecosystems in both countries. 

The Ministry of IT and Telecom noted that the China partnership is part of Pakistan’s wider strategy to deepen international technology cooperation. 

Under ongoing and planned initiatives, the ministry aims to equip up to 300,000 young Pakistanis with advanced digital skills, encourage the adoption of artificial intelligence, and boost IT exports by expanding the country’s overall digital capacity.
