Pakistan, Canada strengthen partnership on trade, investment

October 31, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan and Canada have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral relations, with a focus on expanding trade, investment, and economic collaboration across key sectors.

In a recent telephone conversation between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar and Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand, both sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation in areas such as agriculture and mines and minerals.

The two leaders also reviewed progress under the Foreign Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement (FIPPA), aimed at creating a more secure and attractive environment for investors from both countries.

Minister Anand expressed appreciation to Pakistan for facilitating market access for Canadian canola exports, highlighting it as a key milestone in agricultural trade between the two nations.

Both ministers welcomed recent constructive engagements and underscored their shared resolve to advance mutually beneficial economic cooperation.

They agreed to maintain close contact and continue working together to strengthen the longstanding partnership between Pakistan and Canada.
