PSX Closing Bell: Make Hay While It Shines

KSE100 Index closed Tuesday's trading session at 167,642.27 showing a decrease of 0.25 percent or 419.92 points.

The index traded in a range of 1,843.29 points showing an intraday high of 169,289.21 (+1,227.02) and a low of 167,445.92 (-616.27) points.

Total Volume of the KSE100 Index was 291.895 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 42 closed up, 57 closed down while 1 was unchanged.

KSE100 Index was let down by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 203.92, Technology & Communication with 161.28, Fertilizer with 146.09, Power Generation & Distribution with 118.1 and Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. with 90.69 points.

Companies dragging the index lower were FFC with 162.57, PPL with 112.38, HUBC with 107.93, SYS with 100.9 and ENGROH with 86.3 points.

KSE100 index was supported by Cement with 206.29, Commercial Banks with 113.79, Miscellaneous with 37.76, Engineering with 15.61 and Real Estate Investment Trust with 14.6 points.

Companies adding points to the index were LUCK with 170.05, NBP with 68.58, BWCL with 57.11, MEBL with 52.43 and FABL with 41.41 points.

In the broader market, the All-Share index closed at 101,179.88 with a net loss of 5.31 points.

Total market volume was 775.54 million shares compared to 735.521 million from the previous session with traded value being recorded at Rs.37.49 billion showing a decrease of Rs.8.69 billion.

There was 394,815 trades reported in 478 companies with 181 closing up, 254 closing down and 43 remaining unchanged.
