PSX Closing Bell: Hopes Up, Index Down

July 15, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Tuesday's trading session at 135,939.87, showing a decrease of 562.66 points or 0.41%.

The index traded in a range of 1,921.20 points showing an intraday high of 137,747.60 (+1,245.07) and a low of 135,826.40 (-676.13) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 307.74 million shares.

 

Of the 100 index companies 27 closed up, 72 closed down, while 1 was unchanged.

Top losers during the day were SEARL (-6.35%), KTML (-6.18%), GADT (-4.37%), ATLH (-4.07%), and KOHC (-3.86%).

On the other hand, top gainers were POML (+10.00%), PSEL (+10.00%), ABL (+10.00%), JVDC (+9.37%), and BNWM (+4.99%).

 

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were MEBL (-147.80pts), PPL (-73.61pts), HUBC (-71.58pts), OGDC (-57.82pts), and SEARL (-56.45pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were UBL (+284.92pts), FFC (+85.95pts), ABL (+69.16pts), PSEL (+67.77pts), and ENGROH (+56.38pts).

 

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-178.24pts), Cement (-113.36pts), Power Generation & Distribution (-93.64pts), Technology & Communication (-78.54pts), and Textile Composite (-65.09pts).

While the index was supported by Miscellaneous (+60.28pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (+48.98pts), Commercial Banks (+45.77pts), Fertilizer (+42.16pts), and Property (+35.72pts).

 

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 84,600.38 with a net loss of 479.52 points or 0.56%.

Total market volume was 879.12 million shares compared to 841.46m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs38.61 billion showing an increase of Rs1.56bn.

There were 431,200 trades reported in 476 companies with 109 closing up, 344 closing down, and 23 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 10,313 points or 8.21% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 20,813 points or 18.08% so far this calendar year.
