PSX Closing Bell: Big Thursday, Bigger Gains

October 02, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Thursday's trading session at 168,489.62, showing an increase of 2,849.29 points or 1.72%.

The index traded in a range of 3,052.10 points showing an intraday high of 168,619.32 (+2,978.99) and a low of 165,567.22 (-73.11) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 776.26 million shares.

 

Of the 100 index companies 53 closed up, 46 closed down, while 1 were unchanged.

Top gainers during the day were PIBTL (+10.04%), BOP (+10.00%), ABL (+10.00%), PSX (+9.98%), and FABL (+8.92%).

On the other hand, top losers were SSOM (-7.08%), TPLRF1 (-6.02%), HUMNL (-5.20%), PIOC (-2.45%), and PKGS (-2.31%).

 

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were MEBL (+578.68pts), UBL (+348.75pts), BAHL (+329.09pts), HBL (+322.21pts), and NBP (+248.49pts).

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were LUCK (-101.92pts), HUBC (-48.62pts), TPLRF1 (-41.51pts), SYS (-36.71pts), and FFC (-32.29pts).

 

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Commercial Banks (+2645.89pts), Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (+140.94pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+132.06pts), Fertilizer (+87.63pts), and Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (+71.04pts).

While the index was let down by Cement (-149.08pts), Power Generation & Distribution (-61.13pts), Technology & Communication (-53.48pts), Real Estate Investment Trust (-43.93pts), and Automobile Assembler (-15.97pts).

 

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 53,820.61 with a net gain of 906.10 points or 1.71%.

Total market volume was 72,787.13 million shares compared to 1,639.02m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs3,156.09 billion showing an increase of Rs3,086.43bn.

There were 529,346 trades reported in 489 companies with 239 closing up, 227 closing down, and 23 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 42,862 points or 34.12% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 53,363 points or 46.35% so far this calendar year.
