August 05, 2026 (MLN): The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) staged a strong rebound on Wednesday, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index gaining nearly 2,932 points as broad-based buying returned across heavyweight sectors, led by commercial banks, fertilizer, cement, investment companies, and oil & gas exploration stocks.

Investor sentiment improved as oil prices remained largely stable following sharp declines over the previous two sessions, with markets assessing ongoing diplomatic efforts to end the conflict between the United States and Iran and reopen the strategically important Strait of Hormuz. The easing volatility in crude prices helped lift risk appetite and encouraged buying in equities.

The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Wednesday's trading session at 180,014.93, showing an increase of 2,931.71 points or 1.66%.

The index remained positive throughout the day, touching an intraday high of 180,202.38 (+3,119.16 points) and a low of 178,512.09 (+1,428.87 points).
