A total of 441,070 trades were reported across 488 companies, with 282 closing higher, 167 lower, and 39 remaining unchanged.
Investor sentiment received a significant boost after oil prices declined on Friday following U.S. President Donald Trump's announcement that Washington had reached a framework agreement with Iran, raising hopes that the prolonged Middle East conflict could be approaching a resolution.
The prospect of easing regional tensions improved risk appetite across global markets and reduced concerns over energy supply disruptions.
The rally was further supported by optimism ahead of the launch of Pakistan's FY2026-27 federal budget, with investors positioning for potential pro-growth measures and fiscal incentives.
Expectations of a business-friendly budget, coupled with easing geopolitical risks, encouraged strong buying in banking, cement, fertilizer, and power sector stocks.
With both external and domestic factors turning favorable, the Pakistan Stock Exchange witnessed broad-based gains, allowing the benchmark index to recover strongly and end the week near its intraday highs.
