May 08, 2026 (MLN): Pakistan Single Window (PSW) and
the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) have signed a memorandum of
understanding (MoU) to digitalize Pakistan's trade ecosystem, aimed at improving regulatory efficiency and deliver
integrated, modern services to exporters and importers.
Under the agreement, PSW, the lead entity for Pakistan's
digital trade transformation will work closely with TDAP to harmonize export
facilitation processes and integrate key digital platforms, including TDAP's
Pakistan Trade Portal and Exporters Directory, into the broader PSW
environment.
The integration is intended to give traders seamless,
real-time access to critical trade information while reducing reliance on
manual procedures, APP reported.
TDAP, the country's premier trade promotion organization,
will use its network of regional offices, trade associations and international
connections to identify and engage stakeholders that can benefit from PSW's
digital reforms.
It will also provide PSW with dedicated space at its
flagship domestic events to expand outreach and encourage the adoption of
paperless trade tools.
The collaboration places strong emphasis on data-driven
decision-making, with both organizations committing to secure trade
data-sharing to support market analysis and the development of evidence-based
policies.
The initiative also includes the joint development of
export-readiness toolkits and compliance checklists to help small and
medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) navigate global market requirements.
A key component of the MoU is gender-responsive trade
facilitation. PSW and TDAP will coordinate efforts to enhance the export
readiness and digital inclusion of women-led enterprises, including encouraging
entrepreneurs from the WTO Award-winning Khadijah Women Entrepreneurship
Programme to participate in international exhibitions and trade delegations
under TDAP's annual business plan.
PSW Chief Executive Officer Aftab Haider said the
collaboration would leverage PSW's data collection and dissemination
capabilities to facilitate targeted interventions by TDAP for cross-border
trade promotion, with a special focus on women entrepreneurs, while PSW would
benefit from TDAP's experience and expertise to improve its services and
knowledge products.
The partnership will further include joint capacity-building
sessions, under which PSW will provide orientation to TDAP officials on new
digital modules and regulatory updates, aimed at ensuring both organisations
deliver consistent, high-quality guidance to the trade community.
