PNSC says shipping reform plan still in early stages

July 18, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PSX: PNSC) has clarified that the reform plan referenced in a recent news article is at a preliminary stage and is currently under consideration by the Federal Government, with no formal directives issued as of yet.

In response to the Pakistan Stock Exchange's inquiry letter, PNSC stated that the proposed reforms pertain to the shipping industry at large, including the Corporation itself.

PNSC emphasized that no official communication or instructions have been received that could impact the company's financial performance at this time.

"Based on available information, we believe this news does not constitute price-sensitive information and, therefore, does not warrant any specific disclosure from our side at this stage," the statement read.

The clarification came amid growing interest in policy developments around the maritime and shipping sectors, where potential reforms are being discussed to enhance sectoral efficiency and competitiveness.

However, PNSC's statement suggests that any actionable steps or material developments remain uncertain and unconfirmed at this point.
