PM Shehbaz directs effective implementation of youth programme projects

September 03, 2026 (MLN): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed that the government is utilizing all possible resources to provide the youth with opportunities for modern education, skills development, employment and entrepreneurship.

 He ordered that ongoing projects under the Prime Minister's Youth Programme be made more effective and better aligned with the genuine needs of young people.

The premier's remarks came during a meeting with Chairman Prime Minister's Youth Programme Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, who called on him in Islamabad, said a press release issued.

The prime minister directed that implementation of priority projects under the programme be further accelerated, and that ongoing initiatives be made more result-oriented in line with the actual needs of the youth.

Shehbaz Sharif said the youth of the country are the nation's most valuable asset and the guarantee of Pakistan's bright future.

The meeting also discussed expanding the scope of the ongoing educational, skills development, digital and welfare programmes under the Prime Minister's Youth Programme, along with ensuring their effective and transparent implementation.

Earlier, Pakistan has secured a major achievement at the Kazan Global Youth Summit 2026, as a five-member international team including a Pakistani representative claimed first position in the innovation competition organised by the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) under the theme "INNOVERSE 50+: For a Resilient Future."

The competition drew over 100 young participants who were tasked with developing, submitting and presenting innovative ideas before a jury.
