PKR remains flat at 281.06 against USD

October 21, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) gained by 0.79 paisa against the US dollar in Tuesday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 281.06 per USD, compared to previous closing of 281.07.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 281.30 and a low (ask) of 282.15.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 281.15 for buying and 282.10 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR rose 99.30 paisa or 0.30% against the Euro, closing at 326.82 compared to the previous value of 327.81.

Against the British Pound, PKR increased by 67.12 paisa or 0.18% to 376.41 compared to 377.08 a day ago.

The local unit decreased 21.35 paisa or 0.06% against Swiss franc to close at 354.61.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value appreciated 0.50 paisa or 0.27% to close the session at 1.8597 versus 1.8647 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee fell 2.99 paisa or 0.08% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.49 from 39.46.

The local currency strengthened by 0.21 paisa or 0.00% against Saudi Riyal to 74.94. While it appreciated by 0.22 paisa or 0.00% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.52.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has gained against the US Dollar by 2.70 rupees or 0.96%. While it has fell 2.51 rupees or 0.89% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates unchanged by 0bps to 10.93% and 11.18%.
