PKR remains flat against USD

December 09, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) gained by 0.87 paisa against the US dollar in Tuesday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 280.40 per USD, compared to previous closing of 280.41.
Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 280.80 and a low (ask) of 281.45.
In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 281.20 for buying and 281.45 for selling.
In comparison to major currencies, PKR appreciated 62.70 paisa or 0.19% against the Euro, closing at 326.36 compared to the previous value of 326.99.
Against the British Pound, PKR deteriorated by 4.45 paisa or 0.01% to 373.84 compared to 373.79 a day ago.
The local unit appreciated 1.29 rupees or 0.37% against Swiss franc to close at 347.75.
Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value rose 1.11 paisa or 0.61% to close the session at 1.7945 versus 1.8056 a day ago.
Pakistani Rupee rose 0.51 paisa or 0.01% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.66 from 39.67.
The local currency fell by 0.96 paisa or 0.01% against Saudi Riyal to 74.71. While it appreciated by 0.24 paisa or 0.00% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.35.
During the current fiscal year, PKR has strengthened against the US Dollar by 3.36 rupees or 1.20%. While it has decreased 1.85 rupees or 0.66% so far this calendar year.
