PKR remains flat against USD

December 03, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) rose by 1.02 paisa against the US dollar in Wednesday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 280.46 per USD, compared to previous closing of 280.47.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 280.8 and a low (ask) of 281.5

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 281.30 for buying and 281.55 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR depreciated 77.34 paisa or 0.24% against the Euro, closing at 326.50 compared to the previous value of 325.73.

Against the British Pound, PKR weakened by 91.20 paisa or 0.25% to 371.42 compared to 370.51 a day ago.

The local unit depreciated 92.13 paisa or 0.26% against Swiss franc to close at 349.53.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value fell 0.14 paisa or 0.08% to close the session at 1.8014 versus 1.8000 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee decreased 3.00 paisa or 0.08% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.70 from 39.67.

The local currency weakened by 1.22 paisa or 0.02% against Saudi Riyal to 74.73. While it strengthened by 0.39 paisa or 0.01% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.36.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has rose against the US Dollar by 3.30 rupees or 1.18%. While it has deteriorated 1.91 rupees or 0.68% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched down by 1bps to 10.90% and 11.15%.
