PKR appreciates by 3 paisa against USD

October 02, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) appreciated by 3.43 paisa or 0.01% against the US dollar in Thursday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 281.27 per USD, compared to previous closing of 281.31.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 281.25 and a low (ask) of 281.30.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 281.80 for buying and 282.35 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR gained 26.53 paisa or 0.08% against the Euro, closing at 330.49 compared to the previous value of 330.76.

Against the British Pound, PKR fell by 64.29 paisa or 0.17% to 379.56 compared to 378.92 a day ago.

The local unit strengthened 93.19 paisa or 0.26% against Swiss franc to close at 353.09.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value appreciated 0.02 paisa or 0.01% to close the session at 1.9122 versus 1.9124 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee gained 0.48 paisa or 0.01% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.51 from 39.51.

The local currency increased by 0.92 paisa or 0.01% against Saudi Riyal to 75.00. While it increased by 2.08 paisa or 0.03% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.58.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has strengthened against the US Dollar by 2.49 rupees or 0.89%. While it has decreased 2.72 rupees or 0.97% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates increased by 6bps to 10.92% and 11.17%.
