PABC boosts output capacity to 1.3bn cans

August 5, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan Aluminium Beverage Cans Ltd. (PSX: PABC), the country’s sole manufacturer of aluminum beverage cans, has completed a strategic debottlenecking and capacity enhancement project, lifting its rated annual production capacity to 1.3 billion cans from 1.2bn.

The company disclosed the development in a filing to the Pakistan Stock Exchange, stating that the initiative was aimed at resolving production bottlenecks and equalizing line efficiencies.

 The project was completed within the projected timeline and is now commercially operational.

“This expansion aligns with our long-term operational and capacity optimization goals,” the company said in the statement.

PABC has been on a steady growth trajectory, having previously increased its capacity from 950 million to 1.2bn cans in early 20242.

The latest upgrade further strengthens its position in the domestic and export markets, where demand for aluminum packaging continues to rise amid shifting consumer preferences and sustainability trends.

The company operates out of the Faisalabad Special Economic Zone and has seen robust financial performance in recent quarters, supported by higher export volumes and favorable currency movements.
