National Savings updates profit rates

July 29, 2025 (MLN): The government has once again adjusted profit rates on National Savings Schemes (NSS) across various investment instruments.
These changes are effective from July 28, 2025.
According to the latest update, the Regular Income
Certificate witnessed the sharpest cut, dropping by 48 basis points (bps) to
10.68% from the previous 11.16%.
Similarly, the profit rate on Short Term Savings
Certificates declined by 26 bps to 10.14%, while Behbood Savings Certificate,
Pensioners Benefit Account, and Shuhada Family Welfare Account each saw a
reduction of 24 bps, now standing at 12.96%.
Special Savings Certificates and Special Savings Account
both registered a decrease of 20 bps, with revised rates of 10.40%.
The Defence Savings Certificates rate slipped by 15 bps to
11.61%.
Meanwhile, the Sarwa Islamic Saving Account declined by 16 bps to 9.79%, and the Sarwa Islamic Term Account decreased by 19 bps to 9.94%.
