Muzzammil Aslam retains position as Finance Adviser to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister

November 01, 2025 (MLN): The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) government has retained Mr. Muzzammil Aslam as Adviser to the Chief Minister on Finance, under the newly formed provincial cabinet.

According to an official notification issued by the Administration Department, the appointment was made by the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on the advice of the Chief Minister, in exercise of powers conferred under Section 3(1) of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Advisors and Special Assistants to the Chief Minister (Appointment) Act, 1989.

Mr. Aslam, who previously served in the same role, continues to oversee financial and economic affairs of the province under the new Chief Minister’s leadership.

On March 6, 2024, Muzzammil Aslam was nominated as the Advisor on Finance to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Previously, in October 2021, Senior Economist Muzzammil Aslam was appointed spokesperson for the Minister of Finance.

Later, in April 2022, he was appointed as the spokesperson on Finance & Economy for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

On January 3, 2022, he was also appointed as spokesperson on energy issues.

To note, he has over 15 years of experience in Economics, Equity Research, Business Development, and Financial/Capital Markets. Further, his work on economics has been actively pursued by key government institutions.

By qualification, Mr Aslam holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Karachi, an MAS in Economics from the Applied Economics Research Centre, University of Karachi, and a Master of Science in Economics from the University of Bath, United Kingdom.

In addition, the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has also announced the appointment of Mr. Taj Muhammad as Advisor to the Chief Minister, with immediate effect.

The move came as part of the provincial government’s ongoing efforts to complete the formation of its cabinet.
