K-Electric updates on shift in proceedings against Syed Asad Ali Shah

December 09, 2025 (MLN): K-Electric Limited (PSX:KEL) has issued an
update regarding its ongoing legal proceedings involving Civil Suit No. 111 of
2023, a damages claim filed against Syed Asad Ali Shah.
The suit, originally before the Sindh High Court, was
shifted to the Civil Court following changes in the law that removed the High
Court’s original civil jurisdiction.
The Civil Court on 2 December 2025 set aside an earlier stay
order that had restricted Syed Asad Ali Shah from sending letters, emails, or
posting on social media in a manner that could allegedly malign K-Electric or
its officials, the company's filing on PSX revealed today.
KEL stated that it views this development as adverse and has
therefore filed an appeal before the District Court challenging the 2 December
order. The main suit continues to be heard by the Civil Court.
The company noted that this update follows its earlier
disclosure dated 25 January 2023.
