KAPCO clarifies Attock Cement acquisition status

November 12, 2025 (MLN): Kot Addu Power Company Limited (PSX: KAPCO) have issued a clarification in response to recent news circulating about the proposed joint acquisition of Attock Cement Pakistan Limited.

The company stated that certain media news may have created the impression that the transaction has been finalized, according to the company’s statement issued today.

They clarified that this is not the case, and that the correct factual position has already been communicated to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) and the public through earlier disclosures including the material information notice dated November 3, 2025, the submission of an addendum to the Public Announcement of Intention (PAI) on November 4, 2025, and its formal publication in two newspapers on November 6, 2025.

KAPCO reiterated that the proposed acquisition of 84.06% shareholding by the company and FCCL is still in process and has not yet been completed.

The consummation of the acquisition remains subject to the finalization of acquisition terms, due diligence, execution of definitive agreements, and receipt of all necessary regulatory and corporate approvals.

The company emphasized that any information in the news  is premature and inaccurate.

They further assured that they remain fully cognizant of their disclosure obligations and will continue to keep the Exchange and the public informed of any material developments as they occur.
