August 27, 2026 (MLN): Jazz has become the first operator in Pakistan to reach 1,000 live 5G sites, completing what the company describes as the fastest 5G rollout in the country and giving it the largest 5G network footprint nationwide.
The company is targeting 2,500 sites by the end of 2026, said a press release issued.
The milestone extends Jazz's 5G presence to 10 cities, building on an initial rollout of close to 180 sites across Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, Multan and Faisalabad, before the network was extended further into Sialkot and Gujranwala.
Kazim Mujtaba, President, Jazz GSM, said that reaching 1,000 5G sites at this pace reflected the company's determination to bring the benefits of 5G to more Pakistanis, faster, adding that as the network scales to 2,500 sites by year-end, the focus remains on delivering a better digital experience through greater capacity, faster speeds and more reliable connectivity, while enabling new services and use cases as 5G adoption grows.
Khalid Shehzad, Chief Technology Officer, JazzWorld, said that building 5G at this scale required a network designed for Pakistan's diverse connectivity needs, noting that by combining multi-band spectrum with advanced radio technologies and modernized infrastructure, the company is delivering wider coverage and greater capacity while preparing the network for growing 5G demand.
Beyond the pace and scale of the rollout, Jazz is positioning itself as the operator with Pakistan's most diverse 5G network, underpinned by its spectrum acquisition in the 2026 auction, where it secured 190 MHz of additional spectrum across four bands 700 MHz, 2300 MHz, 2600 MHz and 3500 MHz taking its total spectrum holdings to 284.4 MHz.
The rollout follows Jazz's $1bn investment commitment made after the spectrum auction to accelerate 5G deployment and strengthen its network infrastructure across the country, taking the company's total investment in Pakistan to $12bn to date and underscoring its long-term commitment to the country's digital infrastructure and connectivity ecosystem.
