June 09, 2026 (MLN): Health continues to remain a top priority under the vision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, with the government reaffirming its commitment to strengthening preventive healthcare and expanding disease prevention services across Pakistan.
Talking to a government-owned media channel, Arshad Qaimkhani said the administration is placing strong emphasis on preventive healthcare, awareness campaigns, and healthier lifestyle promotion, particularly to address rising public health challenges such as diabetes and hepatitis.
He noted that both diseases pose significant health risks in Pakistan and require a coordinated national response involving healthcare institutions, communities, and media platforms to ensure effective awareness and prevention.
Arshad Qaimkhani stressed that raising awareness about risk factors, symptoms, and preventive measures can significantly help reduce the growing burden of these illnesses.
He added that early detection and timely treatment remain critical for improving health outcomes and avoiding long-term complications.
He further urged citizens to undergo regular medical checkups and seek timely professional medical advice, emphasizing that proactive healthcare behavior is essential for managing chronic diseases effectively.
Highlighting the benefits of the Sehat Sahulat Program, he said eligible families across the country can access quality healthcare services through Sehat Cards at empaneled hospitals, helping ease the financial burden of medical treatment for low- and middle-income households.
He said the government is determined to further enhance disease prevention efforts, expand healthcare outreach, and ensure wider access to early screening, treatment, and medical support under the program.
The CEO added that the initiative is being pursued under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal, who are focused on improving public health outcomes through prevention, awareness, and expanded healthcare access nationwide.
