Govt speeds up OSR-funded development schemes

August 18, 2026 (MLN): Development schemes proposed under Own Source Revenue (OSR) will be prioritized according to public needs and local development requirements, with authorities directed to speed up their preparation and approval process.

The directives were issued during a video-link meeting chaired by Commissioner Hafiz Shoukat Ali on Tuesday to review OSR-funded development schemes proposed across various districts.

The meeting was attended by the Director Development and Finance, all Deputy Directors Development and the Executive Engineer Highways, according to APP.

Officials reviewed the feasibility, estimated costs, technical requirements and other key aspects of the proposed schemes.

The commissioner directed the concerned officers to complete the schemes’ preparation on a priority basis and fulfill all legal and administrative requirements before submitting the cases to higher authorities for approval.

He stressed that only practical and viable projects addressing genuine public needs should be included in the development programme.

The commissioner also ordered officials to finalize cost estimates and technical details without delay, emphasizing that timely completion of all formalities was essential for the efficient processing and implementation of OSR-funded projects.
