Govt reaffirms commitment to energy sector

September 25, 2025 (MLN): The government has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing the refining and petroleum industry as Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik met with the Board of Directors of Pak-Arab Refinery Limited (PARCO) at a dinner hosted in their honour in Islamabad.

The gathering, organized to welcome foreign board members from Mubadala Energy, was attended by high-profile dignitaries including Federal Ministers, Members of Parliament, senior Petroleum Division officials, and leading representatives of the energy sector.

Ali Pervaiz Malik reiterated the government’s resolve to address challenges confronting the petroleum sector, highlighting the importance of reforms and sustainable growth.

Board members commended his leadership and expressed support for initiatives aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s energy landscape.

The dinner brought together Mr. Momin Agha, Chairman PARCO Board and Secretary, Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division); Mr. Adnan Omar Bu Fateem, Vice Chairman PARCO Board and Chief Operating Officer, Mubadala Energy; Dr. Mikael Berthod, Head of Joint Venture Management, Refining & Business Development, OMV Refining & Marketing MEA, Abu Dhabi; Mr. Zayed Al Mazrouei and Mr. Salem Al-Braiki, Representatives of Mubadala Energy; and Mr. Irteza Ali Qureshi, Managing Director, PARCO, along with other dignitaries.

The event served as a platform to reinforce partnerships, deepen cooperation with international stakeholders, and align on shared priorities for Pakistan’s energy future.
