Govt lifts Rs175bn of GIS VRR-22 on Bai Muajjal basis

November 27, 2025 (MLN): The Government of Pakistan has purchased GOP Ijara Sukuk (GIS) worth Rs175.16 billion (Face Value) on a deferred payment (Bai Muajjal) basis.

The auction for the outright purchase was conducted by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on November 26, 2025, specifically for the GIS VRR-22 issue, with the settlement date scheduled for December 03, 2025.

During the auction, the central bank received offers with a total face value of Rs176.43bn, with price quotes ranging between 144.42 and 145.05.

From this pool, the government accepted a face value of Rs175.15bn at a cut-off deferred price of Rs144.97.

The transaction carries a tenor of 1,096 days.

Consequently, the total Bai Muajjal amount, the deferred payment obligation payable by the government at the end of this period, stands at Rs253.93bn.
