Govt keeps petrol price unchanged, cuts diesel by Rs12.84 per litre

August 16, 2025 (MLN): The federal government has kept the price of petrol unchanged at Rs264.61 per litre for the next fortnight, effective August 16, 2025, according to a notification issued by the Finance Division.

Meanwhile, the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has been decreased by Rs12.84 per litre to Rs272.99.

The latest revision follows recommendations from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) and relevant ministries, the notification stated.

The price of Superior Kerosene Oil (SKO) has been reduced by Rs7.19 per litre, from Rs 185.46 to Rs178.27.

Light Diesel Oil (LDO) has been reduced by Rs8.20 per litre, from Rs170.36 to Rs162.37.

The new prices will be applicable from August 16 to August 30

To note, on August 1, the government reduced petrol prices by Rs7.54 to Rs264.61 per litre and diesel increased by Rs1.48 to Rs285.83 per litre.
