August 30, 2026 (MLN): Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah attended the inauguration ceremony of Saifee Hospital’s Cardiac Wing in North Nazimabad, Karachi.

Addressing the ceremony, Muhammad Aurangzeb said investment in the health sector is an investment in Pakistan’s future. He said the new Cardiac Wing is an important step toward providing the people of Karachi with timely and world-class cardiac healthcare facilities.

The Finance Minister said the new Cardiac Wing is equipped with modern catheterization laboratories along with high-quality diagnostic and medical facilities.

He said a hospital is not merely a building or medical equipment, adding that the expertise, dedication and compassion of doctors, nurses and support staff make the real difference.

Aurangzeb said private institutions have an important role in expanding access to quality healthcare facilities and reducing pressure on the public healthcare system.

He said the combination of community initiatives and world-class medical expertise is an important model for Pakistan’s healthcare sector.

The Finance Minister appreciated the Bohra community’s longstanding social services and significant contribution to public welfare. He said the community’s continued efforts to improve access to healthcare facilities and promote social welfare in Pakistan are commendable.

He said healthcare should be viewed not merely as a social expenditure but as an investment in Pakistan’s most valuable national asset, its people. A healthy population contributes to higher productivity, stronger human capital and greater economic resilience, he added.

Muhammad Aurangzeb paid tribute to the community, hospital administration, medical experts and all those who contributed to the establishment of the Cardiac Wing.

He expressed hope that Saifee Hospital’s Cardiac Wing would become a center of excellence in Karachi and set an example for other institutions across the country.
