FBR to hold in-camera technical briefing today on Budget 2026–27 tax measures

June 12, 2026 (MLN): The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) will convene a technical press briefing on the taxation measures announced in the Federal Budget 2026–27 today, 12 June 2026, shortly after the conclusion of the federal budget speech.

According to official communication, the briefing will be held at the FBR Headquarters Auditorium and will begin approximately 30 minutes after the budget presentation in the National Assembly.

The session is expected to provide detailed clarification on key taxation measures, including revisions in income tax slabs, adjustments in withholding taxes, and new steps targeting the retail, real estate, and informal sectors.

It is also likely to shed light on enforcement strategies aimed at strengthening compliance and broadening the tax base, along with administrative changes designed to improve revenue collection.

These steps are part of a broader revenue enhancement strategy aligned with IMF-backed fiscal consolidation requirements, as the government faces mounting pressure to meet ambitious fiscal targets in the upcoming financial year.
