FBR collects over Rs13tr in FY26, meets revised target

July 01, 2026 (MLN): Pakistan’s Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) collected Rs13.601tr
in gross tax revenue during fiscal year 2025-26, exceeding its revised annual
target of Rs12.983tr and achieving 100.2% of the goal, according to the tax
authority's collection dashboard.
FBR paid out Rs597.8bn in refunds during the year,
bringing net tax collection to Rs13.003tr against the revised net target of Rs12.983tr,
translating into 100% achievement on a net basis.
Income tax remained the largest contributor, with gross collection of Rs6,645.3bn,
followed by sales tax at Rs4,731.1bn, customs duty at Rs1,385.1bn, and federal
excise duty at Rs840bn.
On a net basis, income tax collection stood at Rs6,579bn, reflecting 101%
of its head-wise target, while sales tax net collection was recorded at Rs4,254bn,
or 100% of target.
Federal excise and customs duty each achieved 99% of their respective net
targets.
Year-on-year growth in net collection was recorded at 11% overall, led by
a 14% rise in income tax and 10% growth in federal excise, while sales tax and
customs duty posted growth of 9% and 4%, respectively.
For June alone, the FBR collected Rs1,812.6bn in gross revenue against a
monthly target of Rs1,753bn, achieving 101%, with net collection for the month
at Rs1,770.4bn after refunds of Rs42.2bn.
