EMCO Industries completes on-grid Solar Power Project

June 29, 2021 (MLN): EMCO Industries Limited (EMCO), in an announcement to Exchange, said that the commissioning of the Solar Power Plant has been completed. After extensive trial production, the company formally transitioned to commercial production without any issue from the month of June 2021.

The company awarded the EPC contract to EBR Energy Pvt Ltd., and hired PITCO Pvt Ltd., to act as a technical consultant for the project. The on-grid roof-mounted solar installation has been completed at EMCO's existing manufacturing facility located at 19 Km Lahore-Sheikhupura Road, Pakistan and will complement the Company's current 83(14) WAPDA Tariff.

The PV grid-tied electric system has a capacity of approximately 1MW (without any back-up) and an annual expected generation of 1400MWh. This solar solutions system will support 40% of the Company's electricity consumption with a substantially lower cost of energy and has a capacity to save the environment up to 1000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually.

Working on Net Metering licensing with NEPRA has been initiated, and Net Metering is expected to be operational for maximum benefit to the Company in due course of time.

EMCO, a Public Listed company incorporated in 1954, is the market leader for manufacturing and supply of High Voltage porcelain transmission line insulators, and substation equipment for the Pakistan market, as well as for various export markets.
