EDGE, e& unveil UAE’s first drone traffic system

October 16, 2025 (MLN): EDGE Group, one of the world’s leading advanced technology and defence conglomerates, has signed Strategic partnership with e&, a global technology powerhouse, to deploy and operate the Middle East’s first Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) system in Abu Dhabi.

The groundbreaking initiative marks a major step forward in the UAE’s efforts to integrate unmanned aerial systems (UAS) into national airspace.

The advanced UTM platform will enable real-time drone monitoring, conflict resolution, and airspace coordination among multiple operators ensuring safer skies and more efficient drone operations across sectors such as emergency response, logistics, environmental monitoring, and smart city services.

This transformative system reinforces Abu Dhabi’s position as a hub for smart, secure, and autonomous air mobility solutions, supporting the nation’s Industry 4.0 agenda and the objectives of the Smart and Autonomous Systems Council (SASC).
