Cotton arrivals drop by 30%

August 8, 2025 (MLN): Cotton arrivals in Pakistan fell by 30% to 594 thousand bales as of July 31, 2025, compared to 844 thousand bales during the same period last year, according to the latest data released by the Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA).

According to the data, cotton arrivals from Sindh province stood at 292 thousand bales, marking a sharp 47% year-over-year decline.

Meanwhile, Punjab province, another key cotton-producing region, saw a 3% increase in arrivals, reaching 301 thousand bales.

Pakistan ranks among the top ten cotton-producing countries in the world, and cotton and textile products are key export sectors.

However, overall output remains below expectations, signaling the need for improved agricultural inputs and practices.
